Description
Misogynistic behaviour is sadly on the rise with research saying 64% of teachers in mixed-sex secondary schools hear sexist language in school on at least a weekly basis. A quarter (27%) of secondary school teachers say they would not feel confident tackling a sexist incident if they experienced or witnessed it in school.
This online Misogyny Awareness course provides you with the knowledge you need to identify and tackle misogynistic behaviour in children and young people.
Sexism and misogyny have damaging effects on young girls. It’s not just the mental burden of experiencing derogatory comments in-the-moment, but also the long-term impact it can have on their wellbeing, behaviours and life choices. Misogyny simply shouldn’t have a place in the lives of young people. As responsible adults, we need to identify and tackle these behaviours so that we can mitigate or prevent the harm that can be caused.
Whether you work in a school, college, pre-school, youth group or childcare setting, this course can help you identify the comments and behaviours that are misogynistic, and gives you practical tips on how you can address them effectively and respectfully.
Who is this course for?
This Misogyny Awareness course is for anyone who works with Children and Young People regularly or on an ad-hoc basis.
The Misogyny Awareness training will provide those working in settings with Children and Young People with valuable knowledge, tips and techniques to address misogynistic behaviour.
